Erica and Bryan’s wedding. Oh goodness. It’s hard to put into words what is on my heart, but I’ll try. 🙂
After Geoff and I drove away from Erica and Bryan’s wedding, we agreed that it was a favorite from the year…and really…a favorite of all the weddings we have photographed in our company’s history. Yes, the details were beautiful (including farm tables, succulents, and one of my favorite flowers…ranunculus!); yes, the scene was set in a location that couldn’t have been prettier; yes, it was a dream team of vendors that we got to work alongside…yes, all of these things did contribute to their gorgeous wedding day. However, what made it an all-time favorite….was Erica and Bryan….and their love and commitment to one another. I mean, really, I dare you to try to find two more gracious, loving and genuine people as they are. What a gift it is to know them.
When we first took on Erica (who owns her own design business –
The Summer House) as an intern back in 2009, I didn’t know that it was the beginning of a really special friendship in my life. And I didn’t know that, one day, I would have the opportunity to document one of the most special days of her life. Doing this work is such an honest to goodness privilege. Goodness.
Alright….I’ll wrap up this post with some of my favorite moments/details of the day…in no particular order:
+ The dinner was held in the horse stable, which is so very fitting given Erica’s love of and work with horses. I love how unique it was!
+ The honey. Get this. Honey was given as favors for the guests – it was produced on-site at the ranch from the bee hives. Wow! Talk about a personal touch.
+ Not sure if I should admit this, as it was a little dangerous, but Geoff climbed the crazy tall windmill to get an aerial shot of the property. My brave man. 🙂
+ Erica and Bryan’s doggies – Diego and Aida. I love these dogs. It was hard to break away from them during preparation time so I could focus on shooting! I especially love that Aida…sweet, fragile, deer-like Aida.
Check back soon for Day Two of the festivities – Erica and Bryan’s reception held the following day. 🙂
