Last month we hauled our three year old and our seven month old children across the country to pay a visit to my hometown in northern California. Flying with them was no easy feat…but, we managed to make it over and back pretty darn gracefully given the reality of being strapped in a very small space for hours with a toddler and an infant. π
In California, we kept quite busy.
We visited with A LOT of loved ones, including my whole, huge family and my girlfriends from high school.
We spent a morning at Fairytale Town and then feasted on fried chicken while picnicking under the trees.
We got to watch a little tv, which was a special treat, being that we don’t have cable.
We drove up to my family’s cabin and rode quad runners, lounged in the hammock, made s’mores and watched Boone enjoy every moment running around outside and getting dirtier than I think he’s ever been.
We left the kids with my mom for a day and headed to the beautiful (I mean, BEAUTIFUL) Wine and Roses Country Inn and Spa where we got pedicures (yes, Geoff gets pedicures), went out to dinner and I got to sleep for eight glorious uninterrupted hours straight (that hadn’t happened in seven months, so you can imagine the wonderfulness).
We drank a lot of coffee and ate some really great chocolate (hello Trader Joe’s Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Almonds).
We took Boone to my dad’s yard to operate the cranes and then drove out to “the hills” to watch the sun set over the windmills.
A pretty great trip indeed.

He looks pretty darn attractive in this one too. π
I love ALL of these but that first shot is INCREDIBLE! Such a sweet family.
