Julie and Evan. Love them. And, loved their wedding.
The pair were married at the
Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Belmont, North Carolina, which is one of the
prettiest venues in the Charlotte area if you ask me. It was early November, which meant that the sun was going to set earlier than normal. In fact, it was due to set immediately following Julie and Evan’s ceremony, which would leave us no time for portraits. Lucky me, they were up for doing a “first look” (i.e. seeing each other before the ceremony), which I was SO thankful for so we could really take advantage of the beauty of the gardens.

A few favorite memories from the first half of the day:
– After we had sent the bridal party away following pictures, we took some time to photograph Julie and Evan together. At one point I was up pretty close with my camera and heard Evan say to Julie “this is the happiest day of my life”. I died. It was the sweetest. Seriously, the sweetest.
– The flower girl and ring bearer. There are no words. As you’ll see….they are cuter than cute. And, they are just as sweet as they are cute. After Geoff and I were reminiscing about the day on our drive home, we both agreed that if Boone is half as well mannered as these two were, we’ll be in great shape.
– Julie and Evan took communion with Awake My Soul by Mumford & Sons playing in the background. *love*
– As soon as Julie and Evan recessed out of the ceremony, a huge flock of birds swept over above the weddings guest still seated in their chairs. Magical….really.
Truly, we feel so fortunate to have photographed these special moments and the special people that took part in their wedding day. Julie and Evan – thank you! π
