beautiful. What an honor and privilege to be a part of shaping such an impactful environment using the arts for the glory and honor of Christ.
I’m thankful for how God uses you all.
Wow Cheyenne!!! You really captured the power of the event. We were watching the “Nothing but the Blood” number, and I elbowed Leslie saying “wait a minute….is that…yup…that’s Geoff”. My hat is off to everyone who played a role in creating 3D Easter. We’re so proud to attend a church like Elevation.
I was at Blakney on Saturday night and it was absolutely amazing. My BFF was one of the 2,200, so it’s something I’ll never forget. These photos totally capture the experience! Great job Elevation!
Jerry, to answer your question, we utilize cover songs for two reasons:
1. It is a way to break down walls people who are perhaps coming for the first time and are uncomfortable in a “church” environment. Because we exist to reach people who are far from God, we want to create an atmosphere that they feel they can open their heart up to the Gospel.
2. Some cover songs, although not originally written for this reason, still communicate certain messages that are relevant to the theme of the sermon that week and can be used to help set a certain tone for the day.
Hope that makes sense… if not, feel free to write me an email 🙂
I can almost hear the angels rejoice!!! We can’t wait to take a trip up to Charlotte and experience worship Elevation Style! Hugs to both of you!!! Kay Compton

Is that Geoff playing the cajon drum?
I am not being critical in any way… I love Elevation.. Just curious of the reasoning behind the Katy Perry song for the Easter service?
