I first met Whitney at the airport in London, England. It was junior year of college and I was headed to Edinburgh, Scotland to study abroad for six months. I had just flown from Newark, NJ to London on a group flight through my program. Apparently, Whitney (who was in the same program) had been sitting a couple of rows behind me, but somehow got off of the plane ahead of me.
As I exited the plane, I glanced up to see her…a girl I had never seen before…and she said aloud “I waited for you”. I looked behind me thinking she was talking to someone else. She wasn’t. Terribly homesick and desperate for a friend, Kentucky bred Whitney waited for me. And so, on the walk to our next flight out to Edinburgh, our friendship began.
And now, ten years later, Whitney is still a dear friend to me. I am so glad we have managed to keep in touch through the years and count it as a great privilege to have photographed her wedding this past December. She and Matt were married at Agnes Scott College
(Whitney’s alma mater) in Decatur, Georgia.
