We were so excited to welcome Andi to our team a few weeks ago and are so happy to have her with us for our fall wedding season. Since her start, she has been fitting right in around here and has already been a tremendous help to us…(including blessing us with her beautiful hand lettering skills! Go check out her work on her website here —–> Workman Creative Company)…we are so grateful. Without further ado, meet Andi – our fall intern!
Where are you from?
I grew up in Eastern North Carolina, in the city of Greenville, and moved to Hickory in August of 2016.
What are you passionate about?
I’ve become more and more aware about how important it is to do things that matter – I want to make sure I’m using all of my talents to love and serve people well, whether through creating meaningful art or a simple conversation.
What are you most looking forward to for the remainder of 2017?
Building relationships with new middle school friends through the ministry Young Life, growing my small business, and CHRISTMAS. I really love Christmas.
What are you grateful for?
A husband who loves me well, a family that encourages us and supports our crazy, giant dreams, and my faith.
Hobbies?
I love painting, baking sweet treats, exploring new mountain trails with my husband, tending to our garden, and spending time with family.
If you had a full day to yourself, what would you do?
I’d spend the entire day at my family’s river house, reading a Jodi Picoult Novel on the pier, eating a Bill’s Hotdog. (Our favorite hole-in-the-wall place!)
Three things you are loving right now?
Gardening, Emily P. Freeman’s “The Next Right Thing” podcast, and painting with acrylics
One state you want to visit in the next five years?
Maine!
Best book you have ever read?
This is HARD! Right now The Finishing School by Valerie Woerner is at the top of my “best ever” list.
What was your favorite moment from your wedding?
As we were exiting our reception on my family’s boat, we had a few moments to be still and “soak in” all of the love we experienced that day as we idled down the river. It was the best way to end the best day–and that memory is one that I still think about often! (go check out her wedding pictures HERE!)
Vanilla or chocolate?
Vanilla!!
Beach or mountains?
I grew up a beach girl but am now way closer to the mountains. I love both, but I think when it comes down to it, I’ll always choose the small coastal towns at the beach!
Morning person or night owl?
I’m a night owl with dreams to become a morning person!
Favorite season?
I am mostly an anything but winter person (I’m always cold!), but love what fall brings to the table: changing leaves, cooler weather (but still warm!), cross country, college football, and a little bit of slowing down as the world settles back into a routine.
Favorite city to visit?
Little Washington, North Carolina
Favorite show on Netflix?
Parenthood.
Favorite treat?
Melty chocolate chip cookies straight out of the oven. Or a hot Krispy Kreme donut. I cant decide.
Favorite food?
Homemade Mac and Cheese…or my Grandma’s Chicken and Pastry. I can’t decide about that either.
Favorite drink?
Sweet Tea
Coffee or tea?
Coffee
Favorite restaurant?
Local + hole in the wall = all of the restaurants at the top of my list. I especially love Mexican food!
Favorite place to get coffee?
I always love grabbing coffee from any local coffee shop, but there is something magical about the coffee from Krispy Kreme in my hometown. It’s different than any other Krispy Kreme location, and every time I am visiting family I have to stop and get a cup!
If you were given $100 and you had to give it away to someone, who would you give it to?
I’d use it to send one of our middle school friends to Young Life Camp!
If you were given $100 and you had to spend it on yourself, how would you spend it?
I’d go buy a LetterFolk board! I’d also probably buy an Oreo Cheesecake Milkshake from Cookout.
