Us….in Savannah

We have made it no secret that we love the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia.  In fact, we love it so much that we try to get there at least once per year…and we typically do the same things every visit.  This particular trip we took with our sweet friends Marc, Diane (who is also a photographer!) and Levi, who were down south from their new home in NY.  Their family is extra special to us, as they kept Boone for the good bit of last wedding season before they moved up north.  While we shot weddings (many of them out of town), we were at peace knowing that Boone was being loved by Marc and Diane as though he was their own.
Our Savannah trip 2013 consisted of the following:
+ we ate Diane’s amazing pancakes out on our patio of the home we rented together.
+ we forced the boys to play in the fountain (see picture below).
+ we ate at Vinnie’s (i.e. some of the best pizza in the south in my opinion)…multiple times.
+ we did a little shopping (hello Urban Outfitters extra 50% off sale items!).
+ we took a walk (read: chased Boone) through Forsyth Park.
+ we got pralines and fudge from the Savannah Candy Kitchen.
+ we took naps at our favorite Savannah coffeehouse – Gallery Espresso.
+ we stayed up late playing Scattergories and making Marc perform “the floor butterfly” (be jealous you didn’t get to witness this dance in person).
We also spent a good bit of time walking the gorgeous streets taking random pictures.  I have had my eye on a new lens for a long time now…years, in fact.  The 45mm tilt-shift.  And so, I decided to rent it for a week to determine whether or not I wanted to move forward with purchase.  It was the only lens I brought with me on this trip and I forced myself to learn how to use it – it was tricky to get the hang of!  The verdict is in: I love it.  I think we’re going to rent it once more to try on a wedding to make the final call.
Here you go – Savannah.  2013.
