Five Days

The Schultzes

Boy oh boy…has it been an interesting five days.

I’ll start with the good stuff.  Geoff and I decided to take Boone on a last minute trip for a couple of days away – we decided Greenville, SC was far enough away, but not too far that Boone would hate us for making him stay in his car seat for so long (he HATES his car seat).  We left Thursday night and came back Saturday night – we ate some good food, walked around downtown, showed Boone the Greenville mice, napped, watched tv, saw a friend, and crawled around at the park.

Unfortunately, while we were there we got a call from the tenants of the town home that we own.  Long story short – an outside pipe was busted by a tree root, which caused a sewage backup into the house…..which destroyed the laminate floors….all of which is ridiculously expensive….which is sure to be a fun time to figure out with our homeowners association and claim filing.  :/
And yet, we are thankful.  Thankful that we have tenants who have been very patient and understanding with the whole situation.  Thankful that we were able to get contractors to help fix the issues over the holiday weekend.  Thankful that this didn’t happen on a day that we were shooting a wedding and DID happen on a day that we were completely free from any responsibility so we could handle it.  And, although I feel terrible for our tenants who have to deal with this, I’m thankful it didn’t happen while we were living there with three dogs and a baby.
THEN, this morning was a little dramatic.  As I mentioned on twitter, Geoff slipped and fell down the stairs on our front porch this morning taking the garbage out before he left for work. All I heard was very loud screaming coming from the front yard and then found Geoff on the ground holding his arm.  His right arm.  His arm that is kind of needed when you animate graphics and take pictures of people for a living.  I immediately assumed it was broken.  And thankfully, it wasn’t.
Unfortunately, the dramatics continued as Geoff proceeded to pass out.  About a minute after he woke, he passed out again.  I was THIS close to calling 911.  I’m quite familiar with his history of passing out due to extreme pain or even getting shots/having blood drawn….but I never get used to trying to shake him awake as he stares at me with a white face and open mouth.  Ugh….it’s awful.
And of course, we are thankful for God’s protection.  Thankful that he didn’t hit his head when he fell.  Thankful that he didn’t break his arm.  Thankful that I was home when he fell.
So yeah – it’s been interesting to say the least.  Come hang around with us if you want a little action in your life.  ðŸ™‚

Geoff. Could it be possible you passed out and that caused you to fall? Please follow up with a doctor. This could be an underlying situation we never uncovered that stress triggers. Please follow up and give us all a gift of peace. God bless and love you! You are a daddy now and have to take care. Love Mom
