Savannah 2011

While pregnant with Boone, Geoff and I talked about what the next year would look like wedding wise.  We decided that we would limit our out of town travel, as well as wouldn’t shoot more than three weddings in a row.  So here we are…..a Saturday in May….with no wedding.  And I gotta say….it feels good.  The break feels real good.
With no wedding this weekend we decided to take advantage of it and go away together – just the three of us – for a little family trip.  Deciding where to go was easy.  Savannah, Georgia is one of our very favorite places….not to mention, it is a special place to us, being that this is the city that we first met….nearly seven years ago.  We’ve vowed to come back here at least once per year.  So, on Wednesday night after Boone had eaten dinner, we loaded up the car and made the 4ish hour trip south for a few days away.
The weekend has been full of walks, naps, pizza (Vinnie’s!), pralines, Starbucks, visits to our favorite coffee shop (Gallery Espresso) for the World’s Best Brownie (FACT), pool swimming (Boone’s first!), naps, sweat from walking, dog watching, picture taking and early super breakfast eating (thanks, Boone).

Baby gap had a big sale going on…we couldn’t help ourselves but to get Boone a couple new hats…which he refused to wear for more then a few seconds and that was only because we distracted him with the shiny packets of coffee in our hotel room.

And now, we sit in Gallery for a little last minute relaxing before it’s time to feed the baby dinner and head back to Charlotte.  Here’s hoping he sleeps the whole way home!  πŸ™‚

We hope your first year of parenting has been everything we said it would be (and more). It keeps getting better. Leighton just turned 2 last week. Terrible?? More like typical. But she never loses cute and all the good behavior and fun times make the typical 2’s very bearable. Erin is 8 weeks with our 2nd. Let the fun times begin again! Hope you’re family is doing well.
